Badaling Great Wall: North Cableway Closed Oct 21 – Dec 25, 2026

Verified at the official Badaling ticketing platform, October 16, 2026.

The Badaling Great Wall scenic area has posted a notice: the North Line Aerial Cableway will be suspended from October 21 to December 25, 2026. The notice gives no reason for the suspension. The South Line Ground Cableway remains in operation during this period.

What you need to know:

  • The Great Wall itself, all gates, and both the North and South lines of the wall remain open and visitable. Only the North Line cableway is suspended.

  • If you want the cable car, take the South Line Ground Cableway, which runs on the southern side of the valley up to the South Fourth Tower (elevation 803.6 m).

  • Tickets can be bought up to 90 days in advance, one ticket per passport/ID per day.

  • Foreign visitors can use a passport to buy and collect tickets — go to the service window near the boarding gate.

Contact the scenic area directly before you travel — cableway operations can change with weather and maintenance:
