8-Day Everest Base Camp Classic Circuit
🗓️ Day 1: Arrive in Lhasa – Acclimatize to the Plateau
Itinerary: Upon arrival at Lhasa Gonggar Airport or Lhasa Train Station, you will be transferred to your hotel. The most important task of the first day is to rest and acclimatize; no sightseeing activities are arranged.
🗓️ Day 2: Lhasa City Tour – Experience the Holy City
Itinerary: Visit the Potala Palace, the world’s highest ancient palatial fortress complex. Then explore the Jokhang Temple, a sacred site in the hearts of Tibetan Buddhist believers, and Barkhor Street, Lhasa’s famous kora circuit and commercial center.
🗓️ Day 3: Lhasa → Yamdrok Lake → Karola Glacier → Shigatse
Itinerary: Cross the Gampala Pass and encounter Yamdrok Lake, known as the "Swan Lake." Then get an up-close view of the Karola Glacier. In the evening, arrive in Shigatse, the capital of Tsang, to prepare for the next day’s journey to Everest.

Itinerary: Pass through Gyatsola Pass, the highest point on National Highway 318. On a clear day, you can see four 8,000-meter‑class snow mountains including Everest. In the afternoon, arrive at the entrance of the Everest Scenic Area, transfer to an eco‑bus (operating hours 6:30–20:00), and head to Everest Base Camp at 5,200 meters. Wait for a magnificent golden sunset on Everest and a dazzling starry sky. In the evening, you may also experience the spontaneous "plateau disco" organized by young people at the camp – an unforgettable memory.
